PRWC calendars

Peace River Wildlife Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation and education center in Punta Gorda, Florida. Its mission is to rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife and educate the public. Learn more about the Center.

GreenSync Inc. helps the Center create calendars to help educate the public about Florida’s native wildlife and to further PRWC’s work of contributing to the survival of native Florida wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation and education.

Since 2020, PRWC calendars feature donated photographs. Thanks to everyone who has donated photos. Each year the photographs received by the deadline are sent to PRWC for their consideration. They do not know who submitted the photos. The Center’s calendars are only possible because of the generosity of those who donate photos. The 2019 calendar features the work of one volunteer. The 2018 calendar features photographs taken by staff and volunteers.

Once calendars are delivered by the printer, they are available for a short time for pickup. Due to hurricane damage the location and hours are not yet confirmed. Last year they were available from the PRWC Education Center at 3400 Ponce de Leon Parkway in Punta Gorda, Florida, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The 2025 calendar is for sale for $9.95.

Scroll down this page to see flip books of the calendars created so far. You can download a PDF file from each flip book.

PRWC has said they don’t anticipate requesting photographs for a 2026 calendar. If they do, the guidance may be similar to that followed for the 2025 calendar.

Guidance provided for the 2025 calendar:

Will you please consider donating up to five photographs for possible use in the 2025 calendar? The photos must be received by July 31, 2024. (This is a month earlier than prior years.)

Important things to remember:

  • Peace River Wildlife Center’s mission is to rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife and educate the public. GreenSync Inc. helps the Center create calendars that help educate the public about Florida’s native wildlife and the work of the Center. Because PRWC is creating this calendar, the calendar will only feature photographs of wildlife native to Florida. Many of the photographs are of animals treated at the Center and many of those are birds but they also treat lots of others! The calendar includes wildlife observances for squirrels, gopher tortoises, opossums, raccoons, bats, snakes and bears so photos of these animals are appreciated.
  • Any photograph of native wildlife taken by anyone at any time, anywhere, may be submitted. The calendars showcase the diversity of wildlife in Charlotte County, especially those treated at the Center.
  • PRWC staff and volunteers review and select from the photographs received by the deadline. The photos are provided to them anonymously so they do not know who took any of the photos.
  • If the 2025 calendar is similar in design to earlier calendars, each month will include a large image printed at nearly 12″ wide x 9″ high. The resolution must be about 300 dpi at that size. Please do not adjust the resolution of your images as no one will be happy with how they look in the printed calendar. We also ask that images not be altered except for cropping or adjusting the exposure. Several smaller images will be placed throughout the calendar. These images are much smaller so the resolution does not have to be as high. (Not sure if your camera settings are correct to save photos for printing? One website that provides guidance on how to set up your digital camera for 300 dpi prints is https://www.picturecorrect.com/digital-cameras-setting-the-image-size/.)
  • The photographer of each image will be acknowledged by name. Additional information – not to exceed 40 characters – may be included for the 12 featured photos.
  • A draft calendar will be sent by email to each person who donates photos. This is when those who donated photos will learn which photos were selected. It is also an opportunity to review the calendar and suggest improvements. We appreciate the guidance received from those who submitted photos in the past. These reviews have greatly improved the calendars.
  • We anticipate 1,500 calendars will be printed. One calendar will be provided to each person whose photos was selected. A donation to cover postage will be required for the calendar to be mailed. We’ll let you know when they are available for pickup at the Center.
  • Sponsors helped support the 2024 calendar and people were encouraged to make donations to receive the 2024 calendar. Sponsorships are available for the 2025 calendar. The 2025 calendar may only be available for a donation.
How to submit photos for PRWC’s 2025 calendar:

STEP ONE: Select the five photographs you wish to submit for PRWC’s consideration for their 2025 calendar.

STEP TWO: Rename each file to include your last name, first name and subject. For example, Smith Joe – raccoon. This step is critically important so we don’t accidentally give someone else credit for your work or identify something incorrectly. HINT: You may be able to rename a file by right clicking on it and scroll to “rename.”

STEP THREE: Complete the short release form below. Once you hit “submit,” the page will be updated and you’ll receive a confirmation message along with the completed form.

Click or drag files to this area to upload. You can upload up to 5 files.

Please spread the word to others you think may have an interest in supporting this project. If you have any questions, please email helpPRWC@gmail.com.

Thank you for helping Peace River Wildlife Center create these calendars to educate the public about Florida’s native wildlife and the work of the Center.
